50% off sale signs placed directly alongside the merchandise I spent MY TIME trying on and selecting only to be told the sale did not apply to my items. It appears I have to be psychic in order to know what is and is not on sale since NOTHING was identified by the sale signs.

This really pissed me off. Your sales associate handled the situation well in what appeared to be a well practiced dodge of the issue, careful not to aggravate me further, but indicating that there was nothing she could do. If different items are being put out on tables and shelves together, it should be safe to assume that the sale signs apply to all the items on those tables and shelves. If the fine print says something to the effect of 'select items only' , then those items had better be obviously identified or you WiLL generate angry customers like has happened with me.

The store staff should not ever have to be put in the situation of trying to placate customers who feel deceived by PURPOSEFULLY vague store marketing. The ONLY thing that could have salvaged my opinion of Old Navy would have been if the associate had been empowered to cut me the sale price. Denying the staff this ability to do what is right leaves me feeling that this problem rests squarely on the shoulders of upper management. Expecting the sales staff to dodge this issue is WRONG.

I came into the store to spend a gift card that had been given to me. It's unlikely I'll ever return.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.
