Old Navy Credit Card Sham

Old Navy misrepresented their CC as a rewards card to me even AFTER I ask if it was a CC. After signing up I paid 4 my items w/my debit card & left.
I received a statement shortly after with the amount of my purchase + late fees, thinking I had paid w/my debit I checked my receipt & account to find no debit charges, only a CC # I didnt recognize. I closed the account and paid the balance only to still receive statements for late fees.
Good luck trying to find someone in the states to help you resolve it.

They make you sign a contract, ***. You should have READ the contract instead of *** about being "scammed" into applying for a card. They ask for your social and your income, what would make you believe it wasn't a credit card?
My mom died 2 years ago,
In 1980 she had a sears credit card & canceled it.
Since her death they put a $2000.00 charge on her estate.
The date they give for the purchase was when she lived in a nurseing home.
I filed a dispute whith them & it shows on my credit.
They wont take it off.
How is this relevant?
I worked at Old Navy and they pressure the staff to sign up new accounts. Some of the staff would call the CC a "rewards card" to meet the daily quota of sign ups.
Also they swipe a debit or other credit card you have to check ID. I could see how you thought you paid with your debit. Staff is also told not to say the customer may be getting an Old Navy Visa leading the customer to believe they are just opening a store card.
I have seen more then one customer think they had opened a rewards or store account but actually opend a Visa. The practices are sometimes very deceptive.
I work at Old Navy, you only heard what you wanted to hear. The sales pitch is that it is a credit card but you EARN REWARDS when you pay with you OLD NAVY CREDIT CARD!!!!!!
How could it be a rewards card if they ask you for your social security number and also have you sign the application that says that they are going to do a credit check on you???
Let me guess this straight...you signed up for a credit card accidentally? Then you deserve what you got.
Why didn't you READ before you signed the application???? And then how did you "think" that you paid with a debit card? WTF did you wonder why you had to sign a receipt or why you never entered your pin or why you were handed a credit card terms and conditions packet or why the cashier gave you a temporary shopping pass???
Unless the cashier blatantly lied to your face, witheld the entire application from you, and then pretended to swipe your debit card, then your at fault here. Although pressure is intense to get customers to sign up, its not intense enough for someone to construct this elaborate facade to trick you.
sounds like you're an ***
It's probably a little late to do this now, but you should have told the manager of the store you went to about this. The associate mislead you and did not answer your questions honestly.
I have to say, if you are signing up for something, least you can do is ask questions. Dont just assume its a store card.
I usually ask people would you like to sign up for an old navy card. Then people ask if its a rewards card or a credit card.
I tell them a credit card and they decline. I used to care about getting a lot of people to sign up but now knowing the top managers get a bonus I dont care
